Kathleen McCleery is a special correspondent and freelance producer for PBS NewsHour, where she worked for 18 years overseeing production of the daily one-hour program. In 2008 and 2012 she led the newsroom’s political convention and election coverage. She has covered presidential contests since 1980.

McCleery previously worked at NBC News and WETA-TV. As a student at Princeton, she was WPRB-FM’s first female news director.
