On November 7, a crowd filled an Aaron Burr lecture hall to hear Joe Richman, current Ferris Professor of Journalism, discuss his career as a radio and podcast creator and producer. After his start as a journalist at NPR, Richman founded Radio Diaries, a non-profit that trains ordinary people to record their lives in sound and which is the source of NPR’s longest-running documentary series. During the event Richman explained and played clips that illustrated the range of his work, from the groundbreaking Teenage Diaries through to his more recent productions. Richman followed his talk with a lively and extended Q&A with the audience.
