JoAnn DeLuna

Visiting Lecturer in the Humanities Council; Ferris Professor of Journalism (Fall 2025)

JoAnn DeLuna is an award-winning journalist/audio producer, Spanish translator, and poet. She’s produced, managed, and launched shows for outlets including NPR, Sony, Pharrell Williams’ OTHERtone, Pushkin, TED Audio Collective, and more. She began her career working for newspapers along the US Mexico border as an education and crime reporter. She went on to cover the travel industry from Europe—where she lived for 4 years—Asia, the Americas, and eventually from New York. Her English and Spanish poetry is published in anthologies in California, New York and Texas. In the fall, DeLuna will teach an intro to audio journalism and podcasting course.
