The Literature of Fact: Journalist as Historian

Back to "Fall 2016" courses

The best literary journalism combines rigorous reporting, fluid writing, and a strong grasp of idea. This seminar will equip you with the necessary skills to report and write original, nuanced pieces, with a focus on reporting from foreign countries.

It will also explore the vexed question of what it means to be privy to place, person, event – a witness – and where the “I” belongs in that.
