From a young journalist on Ayatollah Khomeini’s plane returning from exile to Tehran in 1979 amidst the revolution, to expert lecturer on New York Times-led tours to Iran the past two years, Elaine Sciolino has extensively covered Iran. As a contributing writer and former Paris bureau chief at The New York Times, and author of Persian Mirrors: The Elusive Face of Iran (Free Press, 2005), Sciolino provides an on-the-ground “outsider” view of modern Iran.
