On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, investigative journalist Julia Ioffe ’05 (The Atlantic) will be in conversation with Ferris Professor of Journalism Deborah Amos (NPR) about Russia, Putin, Trump, and their careers on the front lines. The discussion, moderated by Department of Music professor Simon Morrison, will take place in 10 McCosh at 4:30pm.
Ioffe writes on national security, foreign policy, and politics for The Atlantic, having previously written for POLITICO, The New Yorker, and The New Republic. Her article “What Putin Really Wants” is the cover story of this month’s issue of The Atlantic. Her 2016 profile of Melania Trump for GQ attracted national attention after Ioffe was targeted by white supremacist trolls. She appears frequently on CNN, MSNBC, and PBS.
