Michael LaForgia recently joined The New York Times as a reporter on the investigations team.

He was previously investigations editor at the Tampa Bay Times, where he spent five years. During that time LaForgia won the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting twice—in 2014 for exposing problems in a homeless program, and in 2016 for a series on a school district’s neglect of black students.
