Tara McKelvey is a Washington-based correspondent for the BBC reporting on politics for digital, radio and TV. She is also a regular contributor to The New York Times Book Review, reviewing books about intelligence agencies, the military and other subjects. Previously she was a correspondent for Newsweek/Daily Beast and a senior editor at The American Prospect. McKelvey is the author of “Monstering: Inside America’s Policy of Secret Interrogations and Torture in the Terror War.”
