Visiting Ferris Professor Errin Haines Whack is The Associated Press’ national writer on race and ethnicity, covering the intersection of race, politics, culture, and identity. She has also written about community policing, gun violence, minority activism, and urban policy. Her course focuses on black women in the electorate and the upcoming 2020 elections. Discussant Ali A. Valenzuela is a professor in the Department of Politics.
