Kimbriell Kelly

Visiting Lecturer in the Humanities Council; Ferris Professor of Journalism (Spring 2020)

Kimbriell Kelly is deputy editor of enterprise and investigations in the Los Angeles Times’ Washington bureau. Formerly an investigative reporter at The Washington Post, Kelly has 20 years’ experience as a journalist, editor, and publisher. A 2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist, she also was part of the team that launched The Post’s “Fatal Force” series on police-involved shootings, which won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2016. She is a sought-after expert on public-records requests, research, and data analysis, and previously worked for The Chicago Reporter and The Daily Herald.
