Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a course housed in the Program in Journalism are eligible to apply for travel-related funding.
JRN Undergraduate Coursework Funding
Travel funding is available to undergraduate students enrolled in JRN-designated courses for course-related reporting, such as interviewing subjects. Awards typically average up to $100, with a maximum of $300.
To apply, students must submit a detailed budget, a summary of their course project, planned activities, and travel dates to their course instructor for approval. Please note that these funds are strictly for travel expenses and may not be used to purchase equipment.
Once approved, students must submit the required materials via SAFE prior to travel, as applications cannot be accepted after the trip has concluded. All travel must also be registered in Enroll My Trip.
Upon completion of the activity, please submit all receipts in SAFE.
Funding Restrictions
These funds are available only to students enrolled in a course with JRN as the primary designation. The course instructor must approve the funding project and email Jeannine Matt Pitarresi, Program Manager, to confirm their approval.
