Through the lenses of journalism and creative nonfiction, this course develops advanced Spanish language skills, with an emphasis on expressing complex ideas and abstract thought and strengthening students’ written and oral communication. Course materials are examined within their historical and cultural contexts. Through extensive and intensive reading of a broad range of journalistic texts and works of creative nonfiction, students deepen their linguistic and analytical skills while preparing for upper-level 200-level content courses.
