The Media in America: America in Black and White: Approaches to Telling the Story

This course explores questions including who has the right and authority to tell and report a story and how to do so in engaged, nuanced and revelatory ways. By deep reading, meeting journalists and subjects, interviewing and writing, students will learn to use narrative and investigative techniques to illuminate America’s most enduring news story, the story of race.
