The University story titled “The Art of Radio Reporting: Finding stories that ‘whisper in the listener’s ear,’” features the Fall 2019 reporting trip to Mound Bayou, Mississippi led by Joe Richman, founder and executive producer of Radio Diaries, for his course “Audio Journalism: The Art of Narrative Storytelling for Radio and Podcasts.” He was joined by Errin Haines Whack, national writer on race and ethnicity for the Associated Press and fellow visiting Ferris Professor of Journalism.

Ten students travelled to sites in Mississippi and Alabama.
