Our fall signature event, What’s a Fact, Anyway?, featured Fergus McIntosh (The New Yorker) and David Baumgarten ’06 (The Atlantic) in conversation about the essential role of fact-checking, legal review, and other hidden aspects of journalism.

The event was moderated by Eliza Griswold (Journalism) with Ferris Professors Rozina Ali (The New York Times Magazine) and Carolyn Kormann (The New Yorker).

Whether it was a trip to Trenton or to the Florida Keys, or a phone call with John McPhee, journalism students engaged with experts in and outside of the classroom this year.

In 2025-26, the program held eight faculty lunch talks, where our visiting Ferris and McGraw professors examined their work and pressing issues of the day with Princeton faculty from across disciplines. This year, attendees packed 16 Joseph Henry House to hear our visitors discuss a range of topics – including what it’s like to write about climate change, mental illness and Islamophobia, how to create compelling audio stories, and more.

As part of the journalism minor, students prepare a five-minute presentation based on their independent fieldwork or an internship experience.

At the year-end Senior Colloquium on April 30, students presented their work to peers, family members, mentors, and current and former Princeton faculty.

Thanks for a great year!

We’re grateful for all of our journalism students, faculty, and administrative staff for making this year a success. See you in 2026-27!
