The Program in Journalism is now accepting applications from journalism minors interested in joining the Student Mentorship Program for Fall 2026.
Launched earlier this year, the program connects Princeton students pursuing the journalism minor with current and former visiting fellows. Mentors have experience from a range of media and nonprofit organizations, including NPR, TIME, The Washington Post, TheWrap, BBC, and the Bureau for International Reporting.
“The commitment of our former Ferris professors extends far beyond our current classrooms,” said Eliza Griswold, director of the Program in Journalism and professor of the practice. “It’s heartening to see how many continue their enthusiastic support for our students.”
During the semester, students spend approximately three hours each week working with their mentors, conducting research and providing support for various projects. This could include work related to international reporting, audio journalism, narrative nonfiction book writing, and the business of journalism. Mentors will meet with students to discuss academic and professional goals and offer writing feedback and career advice.
The program is open to all students pursuing the minor in journalism. Interested students should apply by April 30, 2026.
